LOW CALORIE, HIGH VOLUME FOOD

If you are anything like me then you loveeee food! Eating healthy and staying on an consistent weight isn´t always easy for me. True the years I found some foods that help me be consistent and at the same time let me enjoy the foods. Keep reading for my personal favorites and how te stay consistent.

Losing weight or staying on a consistant weight isn’t always easy, and girls can face unique challenges in their journey. These are my favorite foods because they are low in calories but high in volume. For me it is most important to eat high volumes so I feel more satisfied and full.

Fruits: Many fruits, such as (straw)berries, watermelon, apple and citrus fruits, are relatively low in calories and high in water content. They provide natural sweetness and essential nutrients. Not al fruits are low in calories like bananas so I try not to eat these to much.

Soups and Broths: Clear soups and broths, especially those based on vegetables, can be filling and low in calories. They provide warmth and comfort without adding many calories. I always have this stacked at home, especially in the fall and winter time.

Popcorn: Air-popped popcorn is a whole grain that is low in calories and can be a satisfying snack when consumed in moderation. Be mindful of added butter or oils, which can increase the calorie count.

Zucchini and Spaghetti Squash: These vegetables can be spiralized into “noodles” to replace higher-calorie pasta in dishes like spaghetti, providing a low-calorie, high-fiber alternative. But I also love zucchini grilled in a pan with just some salt, pepper and olive oil

Potatoe: This may not be the first food you think about being low calorie…but it is about the way you prepare them, ofcourse when they are fried in oil they are gonna be higher in calories. But when you cook them in water of in the oven they remain low in calories. This is my personal favoriteeee when losing weight because it always fills me up.

How to keep being consistent

Consistency in eating healthy is key to long-term well-being and achieving your health goals. Here are some tips to help you maintain a consistent healthy eating routine:

Set Clear and Realistic Goals: a lot of people, including myself set high standards and there is no room for error. But in reality this only makes is harder for you to keep being consistent. Be kind to yourself and try to work on small steps when you just get started.

Mindful Eating: Pay attention to what you eat, savor each bite, and eat slowly. This can help you recognize when you’re full and prevent overeating.

Meal Prep: Prepare meals and snacks in advance, especially for busy days. Having healthy options ready to eat reduces the likelihood of grabbing fast food or unhealthy snacks.

Hydration: Stay hydrated with water throughout the day. Sometimes, thirst can be mistaken for hunger. Of course when your still hungry after drinking a glas of water take a snack.

Accountability: Share your goals with a friend or family member and consider healthy eating challenges together. Being accountable to someone can be motivating.

Routine and Habit: Over time, healthy eating can become a habit. Establish a daily routine that includes regular mealtimes and snacks, making it easier to stay consistent.

Remember that consistency in healthy eating is a journey and not a destination. Small, sustainable changes over time can lead to long-term success. Be patient with yourself, stay focused on your goals, and don’t be too hard on yourself if you have occasional setbacks.
